Meeting and playing with James Morrison at age 11, was an early highlight for me and inspired my passion for music and trumpet performance. I had always enjoyed playing trumpet and piano but performing with James on Suncorp Stadium for the World’s Largest Orchestra (2013), confirmed that trumpet performance was for me.

During my studies at College, I travelled to Seattle (USA) in 2016 as part of the Pacific Honours Ensemble Program and performed at the Western International Band Clinic, and I was also selected and travelled to perform with the National Youth Wind Ensemble at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow (Scotland) in 2018. During 2018, I also participated in and performed as part of the Australian Honours Ensemble Program in Brisbane.

In 2019, I entered the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University, on a Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship, studying a Bachelor of Music (Trumpet Performance). Here I was also a member of the Griffith University Honours College while I studied under Ms Sarah Butler (former Principal Trumpet, Queensland Symphony Orchestra).

I have also performed for a selection of Queensland Conservatorium and Community based Musicals and an Opera including –

  • Grease – Queensland Conservatorium (Lyric Theatre QPAC), November 2021
  • Matilda – Citipointe Christian College, October 2021
  • The Drowsy Chaperone – Savoyards, September 2021
  • Street Scene – Queensland Conservatorium, September 2021
  • Grease – Queensland Conservatorium, August 2021
  • Hot Shoe Shuffle – Savoyards, June 2021

Outside of my studies I perform on Solo Trumpet with the Brisbane Symphonic Band and sound the bugle for community Remembrance and ANZAC Day Services.

My instruments of choice are the trumpet and flugelhorn.

“Special mention should be made of the exceptionally well played on-stage trumpet of May Eisenmenger during Moon-faced, Starry-eyed.
